----* UPDATED *----
** God I've all but forgotten about this damn thing. The more I look at it the more god awful I feel about it. I think I'm going to just end up leaving it as is and try and work on something actually decent.**

Work in progress for an armor concept I've been messing with the past couple days.

I'm attempting to develop a technique for more realistic digital painting, so far I like it. My biggest mistake is the working size is WAY TOO SMALL. It's only 2x bigger than this. Oh well, Live and learn.

Alestia, My DnD Paladin, before her 'incident'. [link] (Quite a jump in quality me thinks)

The armor is Master Work Mithral Full plate, I wanted to make it more of a silver green to compliment her red hair.

Her sword is totally a Masterwork Holy Undead Bane Greatsword. Greatswords are like the best melee weapons...I don't think I can make a melee character without one.

Critique requested mainly for the painting techniques, and armor design. Tips and suggestions appreciated. I'll probably update later with a more finished version.

In terms of believability, I wonder if a cloak is needed. Depending on materials, since armor is already intensive and heavy, it could add unnecessary weight to a fighter, especially given the size of her sword. If you're intent on keeping it, think about how it would be quickly detachable before a major fight. Other than that, as mentioned, you definitely want to think about making the neck detachable from the armor, or at least movable, even if some skin must be shown to do it. I understand you don't want it to be exposed, but be careful with how it's placed, or it can seem to be hindering movement. A final comment regarding the flexibility of the armor would be in the shoulders. They look very intriguing and eye-catching, but again, mobility is the key. As they are now, all should be well as long as the characters arms are not raised completely above her head.

The start you have on the armor itself is looks new and to be of silver. It is very elegant and beautiful, but keep in mind that if this armor has been worn to battle before, it will bear dents and marks of past victories. As for the rest of the piece, I am looking forward to seeing how you colour and render the sword. The runes are appealing and give her a unique touch.
